“You know what? I'm so sick of you and your miss holier than thou attitude. You think you are so better than me, don't you? Well, just so you know, it was me your man was running to in the middle of the night." Delilah displayed a sadistic smile.

"Little girl, you are so dumb. Don’t you know that you can’t compete with a woman of God?” Lacey laughed in her face.

“And, what does that mean? That’s not what your husband was saying when he was calling out my name!” Delilah scoffed.

Lacey shook her head at the brazen attitude of the woman. “He can call out your name all he wants to, little girl, because I call on the name of Jesus, so I’m unbothered. You were used for sexual pleasure, nothing more and nothing less. Do you feel good about yourself that you slept with a pastor? Did you get the golden ring? Nah, I don't think so. You see; I am the golden ring. I am his wife. I am the first lady. You will never be anything other than a Church Whore." Lacey calmly opened her car, placed her bags in the passenger seat, and closed the door. Before walking over to the driver’s side, she walked up to Delilah and got very close in her face. "If you and your family don't stay away from mine, I might just lose my religion and show you how I handled things before I got saved." Lacey got in her car and backed up, almost hitting Delilah before she jumped out of the way.

Mud was in Walmart in the middle of the night due to Tricia having midnight cravings of ice cream and peanut butter. As Mud scanned the ice cream looking for Tricia's favorite, Jezebel walked up and planted a kiss on his lips.

"What the hell?" Mud was shocked and as a reflex, he pushed Jezebel and her back hit the glass door handle of the ice cream case.

“Is that the way to talk to your baby mama?" Jezebel asked as she rubbed her stomach.

"What are you talking about?" Mud looked at her as if she was crazy.

“Baby, we're expecting. Aren't you excited?"

Mud walked up on Jezebel. He was so close to her that he could feel the air escaping from her nostrils. "Look, I don't know what games you're playing, but you need to go on with that mess and leave me and my wife alone. As a matter of fact, leave my family alone. I'm not as nice as the rest of my brothers; so trust me when I say you don't want to try me. Understood?"

The rage in Mud’s eyes made Jezebel tremble in fear. Maybe she had gone too far. She knew he was crazy. In the past she played off of his insecurities, but now she had to figure out another way.

"Do you understand me?" Mud asked almost in a low growl.

Jezebel pushed Mud away from her. "Oow, I'm scared," Jezebel said, putting on a good act for him. "Let me tell you something, I am pregnant and it is your baby. However, if you help me get my mother out of jail, me and the little one can disappear."

Mud looked at Jezebel like she was crazy. "Humph." Mud pushed Jezebel over to the side as he opened the door to retrieve Tricia's favorite ice cream. After placing it in the basket, he looked back at Jezebel, who stood there waiting for a response. "I always thought you were smart, beauty and brains, so to speak, I guess not. You're nothing more than an easy lay. Nothing special. Just a regular ol' Church Whore who wanted a taste of a Blanks. Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids." Mud walked off, leaving Jezebel standing there looking stupid.

Eddie and Felicia entered their home with baby Faith in their arms. Eddie didn’t know that he could have so much love for such a tiny person. It made him realize how his Daddy felt about him. It had been a long two weeks running back and forth to the hospital. Thank God all of Faith’s tests came back great, but they would keep an eye on her progression.

“Baby, go lay down and I’ll cook dinner.”

“Eddie, I’m fine, it seems like all I have been doing is laying down. I just thank God that we are finally a family.” Felicia sat down on the sofa as she watched how Eddie lovingly lifted Baby Faith from her car seat. She felt herself smiling.

Eddie kissed his baby girl before handing her to his wife. “What?”

“Oh nothing, I’m just happy, that’s all.” Felicia marveled at how much her husband had changed.

Eddie sat down on the sofa next to Felicia. “I don’t know how long it’s going to take or if I ever will be able to make it up to you. I was a fool and I let the devil in. You are the epitome of everything good in a woman and I almost lost you being stupid. I almost lost our baby.” Eddie dropped his head in shame.

Felicia reached over and touched Eddie’s face. “Eddie, look at me.” He looked over at her with tears in his eyes. Felicia wiped his tears as they fell. “Baby, you’re human, and we all makes mistakes. I forgive you, God forgives you, but, baby, you have to forgive yourself. We are good now. Enjoy the moment; don’t let the enemy condemn you for your mistakes. There is no room for him in this house. You have a good heart, Eddie Blanks, that’s why I fell in love with you.” Felicia adored her husband and everything about him from his pecan brown skin to his tall, six foot two frame. She loved it all. Felicia leaned over and kissed Eddie passionately, and baby Faith cried, interrupting the kiss.

“I think our princess wants some attention,” Eddie said, getting up to grab her diaper bag.

“Yeah, it’s about time for a feeding.” Felicia unbuttoned her top and pulled her breast out so that baby Faith could latch on. As she nourished her child, Eddie looked on in amazement.

“Mama brought over enough food for a week, so what do you want to eat?”

Felicia shrugged. “Whatever you decide is fine with me.

  Chapter 5

Lacey had fallen asleep on the chaise lounge in their bedroom. The pregnancy was different for her; she stayed sleepy. With her other two, she had more than enough energy. She was awakened by a kiss on her forehead from her husband.

“Hey, you, I didn’t mean to wake you,” Junior said, wrapped in a towel. Beads of water covered his body from the shower he had just taken.

“I’m sorry, I tried to wait up for you. How did it go with the Bishop?”

Junior sat down on the edge of the bed. “You know how the Bishop is.” He laughed.

“So, basically nothing was accomplished.” Lacey shook her head.

“Right!” The look in Junior’s eyes said it all. He looked at Lacey as if she was a piece of steak. “Come here.” Junior nodded his head in the direction of the bed.

Lacey got up and walked over to him. Her baby bump showed through her silk, powder pink nightgown. Junior removed her matching lace robe and allowed it to fall to the floor. He kissed her stomach through her nightgown and looked up at his wife lovingly. He ran his hands up her nightgown, caressing her body. He stood up and pulled her nightgown over her head. The messy bun that adorned her head fell, and her long hair cascaded down to her shoulders. Junior kissed her passionately and Lacey obliged returning his affection. He nibbled on her ear and whispered how much he loved her, planting kisses on her neck and shoulders.

Junior laid Lacey down on the bed and removed his towel. He climbed on top of her and they continued to kiss as Junior caressed her. Lacey’s fingers traced his back. She loved him so much and his personal scent drove her crazy. She ran her hands over his head as he suckled on her breast. Her body temperature rose and she squirmed beneath him. She needed him inside her in the worst way. Her body craved him. As if he read her thoughts, Junior parted her legs and entered her.

  “Ahhh!” they moaned in unison.

Junior’s strokes were slow and methodical. Lacey thrust on him, crying out in pleasure. Since becoming pregnant, her kitty was extra sensitive and her pleasure was heightened. They made hot, passionate love until they became exhausted and lost in their love. As their climax reached its peak, Junior held Lacey close in his arms and drifted off to sleep. Lacey said her prayers and sleep quickly found her.

Edem sat up in his bed and had his morning meditation. Every morning at three am, he had the same routine before his feet ever touched the floor. He prayed, read the word, and meditated on what he had
just read. It was during those times when God revealed things to him. When he finished, he grabbed his crutches and hopped into the bathroom to relieve himself. After, he washed his hands and face, and brushed his teeth. When he finished, he stared at himself in the mirror. He was six feet one with an athletic build and weighed one hundred and seventy five pounds. He was light skinned like his mother, Eloise, with jet black, curly hair that he kept cut short.

“Gosh, I look like my mama,” he said out loud. Edem grabbed the crutches that leaned against the sink and made his way back to his bed. He tried to be patient, but he wanted to be back in his own apartment. He was sick of lying around doing nothing. He hopped over to his lazy boy and grabbed the remote when something hit him in his spirit. He jumped up and hobbled over to his desk, not thinking about his crutches. Edem opened his laptop and typed what had been given to him. His helpless, defeated energy was replaced with a conqueror spirit.

Hours passed as Edem typed away. He was in a zone and loved it. The words flowed from his spirit onto his laptop, and the knock on his bedroom made him glance at the clock. It was eight am.

“Come in.” Edem saved his work and closed his laptop.

“What’s good, brugh brugh?” Junior entered carrying a tray with bacon, country ham, grits, eggs, and homemade biscuits, and placed it in front of Edem.

He rubbed his hands together, salivating over the plate. He closed his eyes, blessed his food, and dug in.

“Dag, you were hungry. I know Mama hasn’t had you locked up in here not feeding her baby boy,” Junior teased as he took a seat in the lazy boy.

“Nah, man, I’m just hungry, that’s all. So, what’s up?” There was another knock on the door. “Come in.”

“Hey, Edem, Mama forgot your smoothie.” Elisea walked in and set the glass down on the desk. “What y’all talking about?” she meddled.

“None of your business! Matter of fact, go get you some business,” Junior teased.

Elisea sucked her teeth. “Forget you, Junior!” Looking over at Edem, she asked, “How do you feel, Edem?”

“I’m good, actually, I’m great.” Edem stuffed his mouth and Elisea looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Umm, Edem, you know there is more food downstairs, right?” Elisea teased.

“That’s what I said. Y’all not feeding my brother or what?” Junior chimed in.

“I’m going to go get you another plate before you eat your hand off.” Elisea shook her head, heading out the door.

Junior picked up the remote and flipped through the channels until Elisea returned with Edem’s plate.

“Here you go, Massa.” Elisea laughed and took Edem’s empty plate.

“Bye!” Junior shouted cutting his eyes at her.

“Ugh!” Elisea said, rolling her eyes at Junior.

Edem shook his head. “When are y’all going to grow up?” He scooted his grits over with his fork because his bacon was touching it. He didn’t like his food to touch. He felt eyes on him and looked up at Elisea, who stood there shaking her head. “What?”

“Nothing.” Elisea shook her head. “Well, we’re about to go get our hair done, so do you need anything else before we all leave?”

  “Nah, I’m good, thanks, though.”

“Who are you trying to look cute for? Let me find out you have a man somewhere in the cut. I’m gonna tell Jesus.”

“Oh, hush!” Elisea shouted. “Jesus already knows, anyway,” she mumbled as she exited the room.

  “What you say?” Junior asked.

“I said bye, Junior!” Elisea slammed the door behind her.

Edem turned around in his seat. “Why do you antagonize her?”

“Ah! I’m just messing with her.” He waved off Edem’s comment. “Look.” Junior sat up in the lazy boy. “I need to tell you something,” he whispered.

“Brugh, why are you whispering? We’re the only ones here.”

  “Eh! Just listen, it’s Sheila.”

  “What about her?”

“She’s pregnant.” There was an awkward pause before Junior spoke again. “With my baby.”

“Oh, I knew that.” Edem continued to eat as if he wasn’t fazed one bit.

“You knew? How did you know? Who told you?” Junior whispered.

“If you don’t stop whispering! Calm down, God showed me. I had a dream about it months ago,” Edem spoke nonchalantly.

“When were you going to tell me?”

“Well, it’s your Johnson, I figured you would know if you were having unprotected sex with a woman other than your wife.”

  “Really, brugh?”

  “I’m just saying.” Edem laughed.

“This is not funny, Edem!” Junior shouted.

“Oh, I know it’s not funny, it’s not funny at all. To be honest, the entire situation is sad. A beautiful child is coming into this world and she deserves better than that.”

  “She? It’s a girl?”

“That’s what I saw. Junior, you need to get it together. So, what’s the plan, you gonna let another man raise your seed?”

“I know it’s screwed up. But, man, I love her.” Edem turned and looked at him. “Don’t look at me like that, I have tried my best to stay away from her, I really have. And, I haven’t touched her in a while, but I love her.”

  “What about Lacey?”

“I love her, too, I don’t know what to do. Why can’t we go back to old testament living when we could have more than one wife?”

  “Maybe it’s because it’s 2015.”

“Look, I know it’s wrong, but you don’t understand. It’s not just about the sex, and, trust me, brother, the sex is so good. I mean this woman, the way she moves and makes me feel. And, that kitty of hers…”

“Whoa, hold up! Kill the visual, Jesus! Kill the visual! I don’t need all the gory details, Junior.”

“I know, I’m just saying. I don’t want you to think that it’s just about sex. She’s my best friend; our connection is crazy. I don’t have that with Lacey. I don’t know what to do. And, the thought of her new husband all up in my stuff, it’s driving me crazy. I straight want to fight the dude.”

“Ok, David, you cannot send him out to battle so that you can have his wife.”

“Did you just call me David?”

“That is who you are acting like. David was anointed as you are, and he let his lust because a chain reaction that caused havoc on his kingdom. You, my brother, are doing the same thing. Mud and Eddie look up to you. They do what you do, you are the head of a ministry. You are supposed to be leading the flock, not having sex with them.”

“Everybody is not like you, Edem. You don’t know the love of a woman.”

“Hold up now,” Edem said, putting his fork down. “Just because I have never had sex does not mean that I don’t know the love of a woman. I just have more control over my loins than you do. It’s not because I don’t want to, but my desire to live a Godly life is greater than the desires of my flesh.”

“You didn’t have to smack me in the face, that was messed up.” Junior slumped back in the chair.

“I understand that you and Sheila are close. She understands you, she tolerates your indiscretions, and she’s always there for you. Have you ever thought maybe she does that because she doesn’t feel as if she has a choice? She’s your side-piece. If she was your wife, trust me, it would be different. You are a spoiled man, Junior. I blame Mama. She created a monster. Now, I’ve watched you and Sheila for a while now. You have a soul tie with her, I won’t deny that, but just because you have a soul tie with someone, it doesn’t mean that you are supposed to be with him or her. Now, you have a few choices. You can sit both women down and plead your case, tell them you want both of them. And, I will sadly preach your funeral after Lacey kills you, considering that you have your wife and mistress pregnant at the same time. Option two, be a man about it and cut things off for good with Sheila, and make sure your child is taken care of financially. Option three, you could tell La
cey the truth and be a part of your child’s life, if she allows it. Or, you can be a punk about it and let another man raise my future niece. Point is, you need to man up. You need to tend to your flock; you’re not focused on God. You better get right, David! Look at all the mess he caused and God still showed him favor. Let me ask you something, have you ever repented about Sheila or any of the women in your life?”

“Not in a long while. I felt like a hypocrite repenting, then doing the same thing.” Junior ran his hands over his face.

Edem turned his chair around and grabbed his brother’s hand. “Dear most gracious and merciful God, You know the entire story from beginning to end. You know the demons that Your servant, Junior, wrestles with. You knew before he was formed in my mother’s womb what his weaknesses would be. Father, we ask that You intervene, give him a clean heart, give him the strength to fight temptation, and stand strong on YOUR word. Lord, we ask for Your grace and mercy. Help my brother, Father God, remind him on who he was called to be. Help him guide his flock. Block all distractions and keep his enemies at bay. Lord, mold him into who You have called him to be. And, Lord, bless the Blanks family; help us to find favor in Your sight. We have been under attack and in the name of Jesus; I cast out the spirit of lust and confusion, and ask that You send them back to the fiery pits of hell. Replace the void with steadfast eagerness to follow You, Lord, and peace that pass all understanding. Order our thoughts, actions, and steps. Father God, I ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus. And, I thank You in advance for supernatural favor, supernatural abundance, and supernatural overflow. May thy will be done. Amen, Amen and Amen.”

“Amen.” Junior had tears in his eyes. “Brugh Brugh, you should be running the church, not me. I’m not worthy, I’m too flawed.”
