Church Whore Page 7

The singles ministry had been a success. It’s been two months since the start of it and Edem has his eyes set on Miss Mila Adair. They were always on the phone or in each other’s presence. Edem even invited her to Sunday dinner with the family. Mama Eloise approved since Mila was MaDear’s granddaughter.

Edem courted Mila and she wasn’t use to that. He made it very clear that he was not willing to cross the line and that the first time he makes love to a woman will be on his wedding night.

Mila understood his conviction but she wanted him in the worst way. He had never experienced the pleasure of sex so he didn’t know the internal craving that the body had for it. Since neither of them claimed the relationship to be exclusive, Mila did her own thing on the side from time to time. She needed her fix, and the way she saw it was; what Edem doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

  ________

Lizzie stood in the mirror admiring herself as she prepared for her date with James. Elisea had done her hair and make up for her. Lizzie had on pair on skinny jeans, an oversized blouse and a pair of cute flats. Her chunky jewelry set the casual outfit off. Lizzie was pleased with what she saw. Eloise stood in the doorway of Lizzie’s bedroom watching her.

  “You look pretty, baby.”

“Thank you, Mama, not too much?” Lizzie always wanted her mother’s approval.

“Everything is just right.” Eloise smiled.

Elisea looked at her mother then back at Lizzie and then back at her mother. “Umm, mama, are you okay?” Elisea was shocked at her mother’s response. She had prepared for battle for nothing.

“Hush Chile!” Eloise said giving Elisea a look. Eloise didn’t want to let her girls grow up but she knew it was time. The way Bernice and MaDear gave her the business about her ways she decide to take heed to what they were saying. They were her closest friends so she knew they had her best interest at heart.

“Lizzie, what oil do you have on? It’s smells so good.” Elisea asked.

“Oh, it’s called Pink Sugar. Tricia wears it a lot and she picked some up the last time she went to the mall. I told her she was smelling so good I was about to bite her right in the arm.” Lizzie laughed.

“It does smell nice, maybe I need to get me some of that so I can catch me a man.”

  “Mama!” Lizzie shouted.

“What? Y’all about to go off and do y’all own thing, Mama has needs to.” Eloise teased her girls. She had no intention of entertaining another man.

“Kill the visual Jesus, kill the visual!” Elisea covered her eyes and fell back onto Lizzie’s bed. All three Blanks women busted out laughing.

  ________

Lizzie enjoyed herself on her date with James. They went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse where the conversation was on point. Lizzie felt relaxed with James. They talked about the future and how great things would be if they got married and had children.

After dinner they went to the movies; a romantic comedy that Lizzie laughed and laughed throughout. James got a kick out of Lizzie more than he did the movie. He was just happy to be in her presence. After dinner they sat in the car and talked for over an hour. Lizzie didn’t want the night to end but they decided that they would go out once a week.

James leaned over and kissed Lizzie. She was frightened because this was her first real kiss. James parted her lips with his tongue and let his tongue invade her mouth. Lizzie, being inexperienced, decided to replicate what he was doing. The kiss became even more intense. Lizzie didn’t know that kissing could feel so good. Her body responded in ways that she wasn’t use to. The sensation between her legs scared her. She pulled away out of fear.

“I’m sorry, I need to go on in the house.”

“You alright? I thought you enjoyed the kiss.” James was bewildered by Lizzie’s actions.

“Oh, I did, trust me, I did, maybe a little too much.”

“I understand, but look at this way… when we get married it could be great like this every night.”

That thought gave Lizzie comfort. James got out and walked around the car and opened the door for her and then they walked hand and hand to her front door. Lizzie hugged him good night and went inside the house.

Since it was rather late Lizzie expected her mother to be sleep but to her surprise Elisea and Mama Eloise were in the kitchen playing 500 rummy.

  “Hey sister!” Elisea sang.

“How was your date?” Mama Eloise asked.

Lizzie sat down at the table. “Well, since y’all so nosey, we went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse and then to the movies and then we just sat and talked for over an hour.”

“Booooooring! Did you at least get some tongue? Something, anything, sheesh!”

“Lizzie don’t pay your sister any mind. It sounded like you had a nice time.” Mama Eloise said. She threw out a card leaving Elisea with a handful of cards in her hand.

“Well, did anything juicy happen?” Elisea continued with her meddlesome questions.

“Well nosey, James said that he could see us being married and having kids.”

“Really?” Mama Eloise looked scared, shocked and sad at the same time.

Elisea watched to see if her mother’s demeanor was going to change but it didn’t.

“Oh, I have some news. Madear and I are going on a weeklong cruise in a few weeks. Memory and Tyreke wanted to treat Madear to a nice vacation.”

“That’ll be nice, mama. I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise.” Lizzie got excited just thinking about it.

“Is it a regular cruise or an old lady cruise?” Elisea teased.

  “Elisea!” Lizzie screamed.

“Look you little heffa! I may be old but I can still have fun so don’t worry about what kind of cruise I’m going on. Why don’t you find a man that wants to take you on a date or a cruise for you to go on? How bout’ that!”

  “BURN!” Lizzie busted out laughing.

“Lizzie, did Mama just read me?” Elisea chuckled.

“Like a book!” Lizzie started laughing again so hard that Eloise started laughing too.

  Chapters 9

Edmund was pounding the hell out of Jezebel. It was as if he was in a trance ever since the first time they had sex. He wondered if she put a root on his ass or something. All he knew was that he could not get enough of her. Jezebel had him wrapped around her little finger and the bad part about was it was that she knew it.

Jezebel took that pounding he gave her then she lay at the end of the bed and slid down to the floor. Her back was positioned on the floor and she directed Edmund to stand over her and fuck her that way. It took him a minute to get a good rhythm going because he had never been in this position before. Jezebel was like that though. Edmund swore she had 101 sexual positions memorized or something. She had him in positions he didn’t even know existed.

Edmund couldn’t stand Jezebel’s laugh. It always sounded demonic and it was past creepy to him. He also didn’t like the hold she had on him. When he looked in the mirror he saw a shell of his former self. He was Edmund “Mud” Blanks. Women flocked to him; he didn’t flock to them, until now that is.

After they climaxed Edmund got up to get in the shower. While he was in the shower his phone started to vibrate. The caller ID read Wifey. Jezebel, being the kind of woman she is, answered the phone.

“Hello?” Jezebel tried to sound sleepy.

“Oh, I’m sorry I dialed the wrong number.” Tricia hung up the phone.

Edmunds phone started vibrating again. And once again Jezebel picked up the phone.

  “Hello?”

“Who is this?” Tricia was pissed off now.

“Who did you call?” Jezebel taunted Tricia.

“I called my husband’s phone so I’m going to ask you again, who is this?”

Jezebel let out a long laugh before saying. “Ask your husband who I am when I send him home to you.” Jezebel hung up the phone.

Edmund came out of the shower and got dressed. Usually Jezebel always enticed him to stay longer but she want
ed him to go straight home tonight. He said he had to get home and Jezebel told him she would hit him up later.

  ________

When Edmund arrived home the place was completely dark. When he turned on the light in the living room he jumped when he saw Tricia sitting in the chair, in the corner.

“Why you sitting in the dark?”

“Why not? It seems whether I sit in the dark or not I’m always in the dark.”

  “Huh?” Mud was genuinely confused.

  “Where have you been, Mud?”

“Tricia, you know I had a lot of things to do today. What’s wrong with you? Is it the pregnancy hormones?”

  “No, it’s the, I’m-sick-of-my-husband-sleeping-with-all-these-church-whores-and acting-like-its-okay.

“Tricia, what are you talking about now? I swear this pregnancy is making you paranoid. I think maybe you should seek counseling.”

“Oh really? So I’m just this pregnant crazy lady, right? Then why is it when I called your phone another woman answered?”

“You probably dialed the wrong number.”

“Are you for real right now? Well that wrong number answered the phone the second time around. I asked her who she was but she told me to ask you. So I’m asking you, who the fuck was that bitch?”

Mud stood in front of his wife looking all dumbfounded and shit. He thought about when he jumped in the shower. Damn, that bitch must’ve answered my phone then. Damn!

“You know what? You don’t even have to answer the question. It’s irrelevant at this point.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“It means since you want to live life like you’re single then by all means be single.”

“You sound crazy right now. You just need to calm down, I can explain about earlier.”

“How much?” Tricia had a stoic expression on her face.

“How much what?” Mud looked like the nervous fool he was.

“How much of your bullshit am I supposed to take, huh? How many women am I supposed to allow you to cheat on me with, huh? How many abortions did we have to pay for, huh? Please tell me, how much am I supposed to take?”

“Tricia, I don’t know what’s been going on with me lately. I don’t feel like myself. I feel like I’m not even alive half the time.”

Tricia stood up and grabbed her keys off of the table, she started to walk towards the door but Mud blocked her, keeping her from moving.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“I’m done, Mud, I can’t do this anymore. It’s evident that you don’t want to be married so I’m done; as much as I love you, I love myself and this baby that I’m carrying more. I don’t want my daughter growing up thinking this is acceptable treatment, and if I have a son I sure as hell don’t want him being nothing like you. So I’m going to Mama Eloise’s until I find my own place.

“Oh, so you just gonna walk out on me? Just like that?” Mud whined.

“Mud, you walked out of this marriage a long time ago.”

“Tricia, don’t do this I’m not playing with you.”

  “Is that a threat?”

“No, I’m just saying, you leaving is not going to solve anything. We need to be together to work this out.”

“I’m not even sure if I want to work things out. Now move out of my way!” Tricia pushed Mud out of her way so that she could get to the door. She got the door opened but Mud slammed it back shut.

“Don’t walk out on me, Tricia.” Mud begged his wife. Her leaving him would be a blow to his ego.

Tricia opened the door back up and hollered “Bye Mud”

Mud picked up the phone and called Jezebel. He went off on her for answering his phone when he was in the shower. He was too embarrassed to tell her that Tricia left him. He was going to try to keep that under wraps. His family on the other hand will all be aware of it as soon as Tricia is spotted at his mother’s house.

Mud plopped down on the couch. He didn’t want to sit there alone so he scrolled through his phone to call one of his “usuals”

  ________

Edward and Felicia had been in wedded bliss since their nuptials. Felicia was more than ready to start a family. Edward seemed to have a few reservations about it. He always questioned his own ability to do something. Once again he was letting his own insecurities get in the way.

They lay in bed and debated on when to tell the family that she was expecting. Their honeymoon was great. They had the best time, sometimes doing absolutely nothing but relaxing.

Since they had been back home Eddie’s phone was always going off anytime during the day and night. Felicia wasn’t stupid. She could tell by the look on her husband’s face that it was a woman. Once again, Eddie’s phone interrupted their conversation.

Furious, Felicia snatched the phone off the bed and answered it with an attitude.

“Hello?” No one said anything all she could hear was breathing. “Look whore, I can hear you breathing. I don’t know what you had going on with my husband BEFORE we got married but we’re married now, and I’m going to need your ass to respect my marriage. So the calls need to stop, the texts need to stop, HE IS MARRIED! Leave him alone and I’ll leave you alone, trust me, you don’t want me to get angry. Unlike my husband, I didn’t grow up with money, I came straight from the hood, and I will beat your ass. And don’t let me catch you eyeing him at church either. I don’t have a problem turning church completely out.”

With that being said Felicia pushed end on the cell.

Eddie sat there in shock at the way Felicia handled the situation. So she already knew that he had been cheating on her. Eddie really didn’t want to face her but he had no choice.

Sensing her husband’s energy change Felicia said, “I’m no fool, Eddie. A woman knows when her man is cheating. I let all of that bullshit slide so you could get it out of your system.” Felicia got up in Eddie’s face. Their faces were so close their noses could touch.

“Now I hope you got it out of your system because I will not tolerate that. I have no problem kicking her ass and yours too. Don’t play with me, hubby.” Then she kissed him on the cheek as if she hadn’t just threatened him a few seconds prior.

Felicia ran to the bathroom. She had been peeing like a Russian race horse since she became pregnant. Eddie looked at his phone and started blocking out any number that could be a temptation for him.

  ________

Edem was enjoying Mila’s company. They laughed and talked about everything under the sun. Marriage had been weighing heavily on Edem’s mind. He knew it had just been a few months but he felt in his spirit that it was the right thing to do. He could see Mila being his wife and the mother of his children. He went to Jared’s and picked out a beautiful ring. He was just waiting for the right moment to pop the question. He didn’t share this information with anyone in his family.

They even liked the same things. Edem had been drooling over one of the prettiest things he had ever seen in his life, a Harley Davidson. He just knew Mila would try to talk him out of it but to his surprise she wanted one too. So together they took the class and got their license.

Edem decided that tonight was the night he was going to step out on faith and propose to Mila. He had prayed about it and felt good about his decision. He had been carrying around the ring he bought for nearly a month now.

Instead of him picking her up at her house, Mila said she would meet him at the restaurant because she was running late and didn’t want them to lose their reservations at Kudos. By the time Edem got seated he received a text from Mila saying she was leaving out now. 30 minutes later Edem still sat alone at a table full of strangers watching the chef do tricks while making the food. Edem sent out a number of texts with no response. He even stepped out the dining area to call but all calls were ringing then going to voicemail.

Edem was beginning to get worried. Suddenly a funny feeling took over him and he instantly felt sick to his stomach. Edem returned to the table trying to shake o
ff the strange vibe. He felt his phone vibrating. He smiled assuming it would be Mila but it was his mother. Once again he stepped outside of the dining area.

  “Hey Mama.”

“Baby, where are you?” Mama Eloise sounded like she had been crying.

“I’m at Kudos waiting on Mila. What’s wrong, Ma?”

“Baby, just come home, I’ll explain everything then.”

“No Mama, tell me what’s wrong now. Plus I don’t want to leave and Mila shows up.”

  “Baby, please just come home.”

“No Mama! If you have something to tell me then tell me!” Edem rarely raised his voice, especially to his mama but he was getting frustrated and that feeling in the pit of his stomach was traveling up to his heart.

“Baby, Mila won’t be showing up. There’s been an accident. A drunk driver ran a red light and side swiped Mila’s car. Baby, she didn’t make it. She’s gone.”

Edem felt as if he was having an out of body experience. He heard everything his mother had just said but it wasn’t because he was listening, it was because he was literally watching the conversation take place. Did his brain just split in two? He wasn’t sure. He knew he felt weird, almost like he couldn’t breathe because it hurt too badly.

Junior walked into Kudos. He spotted his baby brother the instant he got in. Edem seemed to be in shock. Edwin took the phone out of Edem’s hand and put it up to his ear.

“Mama? Yeah, I just got here, okay I will, aight… bye. Miss,” Edwin gestured for the waitress. “Yes, I want to take care of my brothers bill there’s been a family emergency so he won’t be staying for dinner.”

The waitress went to table and came back quickly to tally up his bill. Junior paid the bill. Before they could leave out of the restaurant, Mud and Eddie showed up. They hugged their baby brother who still seemed to be in shock.

“Let’s get him to Mama’s house.” Junior suggested.
